Windows 11 24H2 USB Audio Issues timing out

I have upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 26100.712 and am having issues with getting my USB Audio systems to stay awake. Whenever there is no sound playing, my USB audio system turns itself off, thinking that there is no power to the USB port that it's connected to. I've changed the setting in advanced power options to disable selective suspend, but this does not do anything. I've also disabled powering down the drive setting in Device Manager for USB ports, and still no luck. My machine is pretty much useless as a work machine now, as my USB audio Bose Companion 5 system turns off within m

  3. Usb microphone problem with audio and sound on windows 11

    Hi, Noah 2093

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

If you're experiencing issues with your USB microphone on Windows 11, specifically with delayed audio and faulty recording, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Update USB Drivers: Ensure that your USB drivers are up-to-date. Outdated or incompatible USB drivers can cause various connectivity and performance issues. Visit your laptop manufacturer's website or the USB controller manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers.
    2. Check USB Port: Try using a different USB port on your laptop. Sometimes, certain USB ports may have compatibility or power delivery issues. Use a USB port directly on your laptop (avoid using USB hubs or extensions) to see if it resolves the problem.
    3. USB A to C Dongle: If your laptop has only USB-C ports and your USB microphone uses a USB-A connector, using a USB A to C dongle may be necessary. However, make sure the dongle is of good quality and supports data transfer and audio capabilities.
    4. Adjust Sound Settings: Check your sound settings in Windows 11 and ensure they are configured correctly for your USB microphone:
      • Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sound settings."
      • Under "Input," select your USB microphone and make sure the volume level is appropriate.
      • Click on "More sound settings" > "Playback" > "Properties" > "Advanced" and check if any enhancements are enabled. Disable any enhancements and test the microphone again.
    5. Disable Exclusive Mode: Some applications or system settings might be using exclusive control over the audio device, causing conflicts and latency issues. To disable exclusive mode:
      • Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sound settings" > "More sound settings" > "Playback" > "Properties" > "Advanced" and uncheck the box that says "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."
      • Click "Apply" and then "OK."
    6. Consider Windows 10: If you find that your USB microphone worked perfectly on Windows 10 but is having issues on Windows 11, you can consider reverting back to Windows 10 if it's compatible with your laptop. However, note that this should be a last resort option, as Windows 11 generally offers improved features and security.
Remember to test your USB microphone after each step to determine if the issue has been resolved. If the issue persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to the manufacturer of your USB microphone for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or firmware updates available.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
