Windows 10: Windows 11 32GB RAM, all available, but only using maximum 40%

Hi I have recently upgraded to W11, at the same time I upgraded my 128GB SSD to a 500GB Samsung 980Pro SSD, as well as installing a second 16GB RAM card. I was expecting to see a significant speed increase, however my Pc has seemed to slow down.The 32GB RAM is working, shows as available, is used by 'Standby', and 'Hardware reserved' is only 226MB. However, the 'In Use' value only goes up to 15GB. At the same time my 8 CPU threads are all operating at 100%. I have tried:uninstalling each RAM card and booting up with each one in different slots, and all combinations work fine in terms of showi

Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

Hi There,

I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

• I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
• physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it

Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

RAM Upgrade to 32GB, windows 10 won't start

1. Double check with your MB manual if the RAM is on the compatibily list
2. Make sure all the RAM sticks are firmly seated
3. Go into BIOS, under System Status and check for Total Physical RAM. Should be 32GB
4. Most of the time, The RAM voltage is set to Auto, manually set the voltage according to the RAM Spec.
5. If all fails, relax the RAM timing a little bit.

 

16gb ram vs 32gb ram Upgrade

8 GB's is what I would tell everybody to have as a minimum. For gamer or power user, I suggest going to 16GB of RAM. 32GB or more RAM I usually only see for people who are running lots of VM's, databases, or high end rendering type applications.
