Windows 10: Windows 11 adding legacy com port

I am running windows 11 on a virtual machine using parallels in order to connect a older pressure logger via usb. The logger communicated through the com port and the manufacturer gives instructions on how to add the legacy com & ltp ports if they are missing in your device manager. My problem is that the option to add them is missing. I am wondering if this is a windows 11 issue or something else particular to my situation.

Legacy equipment using COMM port

Many of my customers now use a USB Gear to enable use with USB converter to RS-232 COMM port. I have always set this up in device manager under PORTS. MS eliminated it in the listing of devices on the latest PCs. Previous suggestion to find legacy under
Action, they now just give Help. No luck there. Am I finally out of luck with the converter?

Adding Com port to Windows 10

I am having difficulty setting up a com port. I install the Legacy device under Windows Device Manager Action menu. I select add legacy device, search for and install the hardware automatically (Recommended), next (If you know the specific hardware model
you want to install, click Next, select it from a list.), select Ports (Com & LTP) under Standard port types, next and get completing the Add Hardware Wizard. I get a message of "Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation
that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34). What am I doing wrong?
