Windows 10: windows 11 adult users accounts not available for login, only one child account with...

Hi,on our laptop used by me, and the children we have Family safety configured. i.e. I use the adult account, children have the limited children acccunt.After upgrade to windows 11 or soon after upgrade, I don't know exactly if there is a clear relation to the win 10 > win 11 upgrade process, as the laptop is used mostly by the children and I am called to assist only when something goes wrong nobody is able to sign in except for one of my daughters. I have tried few tricks I know or was able to find here to bring back the availability of signing in to the other user accounts, but absolu

Adult account displays as child account

Hi.

I'd like to ask someone for help with Windows 10 and a new account creation.

I need to add two accounts - for my wife and for my daughter. Daughter's account is set as a child account, and that's correct.

But when I try to add another account for my wife, she is also added as a child!

My wife has Microsoft account with correct date of birth in it (year: 1977).

When I try to create an account for her and follow those steps (How to add family members to your Windows 10 PC), I don't have the options "Add a child" and "Add an adult" displayed, I see just the text area for e-mail address.

When I fill the e-mail and my wife accepts the invitation, she is added as child.

I have a button "Change account type" in the list of users, but available options are "Standard user" and "Administrator", not "Adult" and "Child".

Changing Adult Account to Child Account

Hi Peter,

To rectify your issue in converting an account from child/teen to an adult, we suggest that you try these steps and see if it helps.

• Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
• Click Accounts.
• Click Family and other users on the left pane.
• Select the adult account and click Change account type.

Child accounts


Does anyone use child accounts on Windows 10? We have multiple user logins and one of these is a child account. Our son is not actively using it as he is a bit young but thought I'd get it setup. Trouble is unlike the adult accounts it is really frustrating to use with edge. It's as if the MS servers (for child reports on their activity) are at play seriously delaying it on launch. It can take 30 secs to a minute to become usable. Deleting the child acc and recreating makes no difference. All our adult accounts are great, work brilliantly as a mix of standard and admin users. Store can also be slow to launch too on his child account
