Windows 10: Windows 11 ARM issues with multiple games on M1 MacBook Air via Parallels Desktop

Hi everyone,I am a big fan of retro games. Recently I switched from my MB Pro 2017 with Windows 10 to a new M1 MB Air 2020, 16GB RAM and Windows 11 - Parallels Desktop 17. The new MacBook and Windows 11 are running on ARM.After setting up Windows 11 and installing FIFA 08, 09, 10, 13, 16 and 17 the latter three via Origin, I found out that non of these games seem to work. FIFA 08 and 10 start, the menus look fine, sound works as well but once I enter a game the screen turns either black or pink. The other FIFA titles I mentioned aren't even opening.I tried the following:- All variations of s

Hi,

I’ve never had a Mac and thought I’d treat myself, could anyone give me some advice.

I don’t know what to buy between the MacBook Air (m1) or Pro 13 (m1). I’ll be using which ever I’m adviced to pick for coding, internet and a little gaming.

Now is a great time to get into the Apple ecosystem. The new M1 ARM processors are delivering exceptional performance and mind boggling battery life.

It really boils down to whether you will be doing demanding tasks for longer periods of time. If so, the MacBook Pro is the better bet as it has a more robust cooling solution and this will allow the machine to run harder for longer without having to throttle itself due to heat constraints.

And the MacBook Pro does offer over 16 hours of battery life...which is about 2.5 hours more than the air. Nothing else comes close to these levels.

Honestly, right now, I don't think you can go wrong with either model. I'd opt for the cooling fan and the longer battery life myself. But that doesn't mean it's perfect for you.
