Windows 11 Audio Periodically Going Quiet

For some time now, certain applications go incredibly quiet at seemingly random. To fix this I typically just replug my headphones and the issue clears up, though this fix is incredibly temporary and annoying. I've tried quite a few things, including using different headphones, updating drivers, and cleaning my headphone jack. I have noticed that it occurs far more frequently whenever my CPU usage increases, or if I just have a lot of applications for that matter. I've been trying to solve this issue on my own and with other posts for a while now and am wondering if anyone has any more ideas?

    :)

Windows 11 Update, Audio Very Quiet

I have been using my AirPods pro with my Samsung laptop (that was running Windows 10) until now, and yesterday I updated to Windows 11. Now the audio is extremely quiet on my headphones and even when at max audio the sound is nowhere as loud as it used to be when I would have my sound at 30-40%.

I've tried unpairing and repairing my headphones, running troubleshoot on my laptop, and I'm confident the problem has to do with Windows 11 because my headphones still work perfectly with my phone. Did Microsoft make the audio smaller or is there some other issue?

  3. Microphone keeps going really quiet

I've had a problem for a few months now, where my microphone 'randomly' becomes really quiet for a reason i don't know. I first noticed the problem in discord, but its also been occurring with other applications so its not a Discord problem. it goes quiet
for a random amount of time, before reverting back 2 normal, only for a few seconds, which makes it almost impossible to talk to people with.

I've tried a few things. Such as:

    • Updating audio drivers from device manager.
    • Turned off all of the 'Exclusive Mode' options
    • boosting my microphone to try and counteract going quiet (didn't help)
    • buying a brand new headset. (The ARCTIS 3 - Arctis 3 Gaming Headset)
if anyone can help, it would be very appreciated as its been bugging me for a while now. Thanks

    (also, i'm using windows 10)

Windows 11 Audio Periodically Going Quiet

    Windows Audio Too Quiet

This problem started a few months ago. All of a sudden, my audio got really quiet, even on the loudest settings (Windows at 100% and speaker knob turned all the way to the right). I have searched countless websites for a solution, but nothing worked. At
first, I could fix it by uninstalling my audio driver and restarting, but now even that doesn't work.

    I have tried:

    • Running the troubleshooter
    • Reinstalling Realtek audio driver
    • Updating the driver
    • Using old versions of Realtek
    • Using the default windows high definition audio driver
    • Turning on the equalizer enhancement
    • Turning my volume all the way up
    • Switching to a different output (Headphones)
    • Turning on Spatial Sound
    • Disabling communication noise reduction
    • Updating Windows
    • Reinstalling all drivers the motherboard recommends

    My specs:

    • AMD Ryzen 3 2200G - CPU
    • 16 GB - RAM
    • B450I GAMING PLUS AC - MOBO
    • AMD Radeon RX 570 - GPU
I am also using Windows 10 Pro version 19041.172

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
