Windows 10: Windows 11 automatically connecting with Wifi 4 instead of Wifi 6

I have a Wifi 6 capable wireless router that works just fine, although my windows 11 PC connects to it automatically with Wifi 4 protocol until I manually disconnect from it and re-connect, then it's using Wifi 6. I set the wireless adapter to 5GHz only mode, my mobile always displays the wifi protocol as Wifi 6, so it's only the PC that for some reason prefers Wifi 4. There is no option in my wireless driver to set the connection mode to *ax exclusive.Is there a solution to force windows to always try connecting with 802.11ax protocol?

OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

 

Windows 11 can't connect to wifi 6 router

My window 11 can't connect to my wifi 6 router using the AX protocol, the network shows in the tray but when trying to connect it simply says it cannot connect to it.

Funnily enough it connects normally if I change the wireless adapter properties to use the AC band instead, though then it does not take full advantage of the wifi 6 capacities.

My router is a D-link DIR- X5460 and my adapter is a D-link DWA-X582, which has support for the 802.11ax protocol.

I already updated the drivers, uninstalled and installed again, resetted ipconfig and the firewall and flushed the DNS and yet nothing.

I know it's not a problem with the modem because I have a Samsung Galaxy that is showing the wifi 6 mark when connected to the network

 

Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz not using wifi 6 instead of 5?

I just realized that I have been using wifi 5 (802.11ac) instead of wifi 6 (802.11ax) while my laptop is Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz,

I checked it in device manager and selected value 4. 802.11ax, but it still showing that I am using wifi 5 (802.11ac) in setting.

So how can I switch my connection to wifi 6 instead of wifi 5?

btw my router is Linksys mx10600, my phone connected it with wifi 6 so it wouldnt be my router setting problem.
