Windows 10: Windows 11: background image or ANY display on secondary monitor in login screen?

My laptop is sometimes slow to wake from sleep, and when it does, the internal display goes from black to.... black! it's the secondary display to my monitor, where the login screen appears. The keyboard backlit works even in sleep mode, so it's sometimes very difficult to tell what state it is currently in, whether it's just being slow to respond, or still asleep, or something else.Is there any setting to set a background even just a background colour for the secondary display?

Login Screen Background keeps defaulting to stock image

I've set a custom image on my lock screen to show up on the initial login screen whenever I first start up my computer. But occasionally, the login screen defaults to a stock landscape image that comes with Windows 10.

To clarify, here are the steps I've taken:

• Go into Settings -> Personalization -> Lock Screen
• EDIT: Set image to Picture
• Click Browse... to look for and select a picture
• Turn on Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen.

However, no matter how many times I retake these steps, the default login screen background occasionally
comes back. How do I stop this from happening?

UPDATE: I forgot to mention a step here in my initial post. I have already set the background to
Picture, thus the custom image.

The option to customize desktop background for multiple display on Windows 10 is hidden on the modern interface of the display settings. To open the old interface to customize your desktop background, follow these steps:

• Press Windows + R key to open the run command window.
• Type or copy and paste the command below to open the old Desktop Background
  interface window:
  
  control /name Microsoft.Personalization /page pageWallpaper
• Under the Choose your desktop background option, right-click on the image that you wish to set on the desired monitor.
  
• Select the Set for monitor 1 to set it on your 1st display.
  
• Repeat the steps to set your background for other monitors.
