  1. Windows 11: Black screen for ~2 seconds each time I receive a notification

Every time I receive a notification e.g., new Slack message, new Outlook email, my screen goes black, then goes back on after ~2 seconds. This behavior started with the 24H2 update which I installed two days ago.It goes without saying that this is extremely annoying and disrupts my work. What I tried so far:* I have rebooted multiple times.* I have made sure I have the latest Windows updates.* I have made sure the latest drivers are in place, using the Dell Command Center the respective machine is a company notebook from Dell, which I use with an external HDMI monitor. Additionally, I

  2. Black screen on windows 11

Hi I have a similar issue. I have a surface pro 8, windows 11. The screen is black for a long time before login.

    Normally:

    • Turn on computer
    • Screen with clock and scenic background
    • Swipe screen up
    • Camera turns on
    • Face recognition
    • Logs in
    Now (since Nov 19):

    • Turn on computer
    • Black Screen with clock
    • Swipe screen up
    • Black Screen for 30 - 90 seconds, can see and move mouse cursor
    • Camera might turn on and logs in or screen times out due to no activity
    • Turn screen off//on by pressing the power button
    • Camera might turn on or screen times out due to no activity
    • at some point it logs in
This happens 100% on shutdown then power on. It happens a lot, but not always on restarts.

    I have tried:

    • turning it on and off
    • rolling back updates
    • factory reset from device
    • factory reset from internet
    • factory reset then installing all the updates
    • factory reset then pause updates then uninstall updates
    Anyone have any insights?

    Thanks

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the display driver and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device
    Manager”.

    2. In the list of devices, you should see the Display Drivers.

    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".

  4. Windows 11: Black screen for ~2 seconds each time I receive a notification

    Microsoft News Notifications

Follow these steps to check if it works:

Step 1: Open the Windows Settings menu by pressing the Windows Key and “I,” or alternatively search for Settings in the Windows search bar and click the corresponding result.

Step 2: Click Notifications & Actions in the left-hand menu. This will take you to a screen providing access to all of the settings related to notifications and the Action Center.

Step 3: Click the System icon, then select Notifications and actions from the left-hand menu.

Step 4: Look for the Notifications subheading, where you will see a number of toggles for various types of notifications. The following is a list of the settings you can toggle on this screen:

    • Get notifications from apps and other senders
    • Show notifications on the lock screen
    • Show alarms, reminders, and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen
    • Hide notifications when duplicating my screen
    • Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows
You may just turn them off the notification as you need.
