Windows 10: Windows 11: Black Screen, No Start menu, No search box

For the last two weeks whenever I log into a particular user account I get a black screen. I restart Explorer or wait and finally everything works ok except there is no start menu and no search box. Windows key + R works but Windows key + S does not.To solve the black screen sometimes restarting Explorer works, sometimes it only works when I switch user and return.Under black screen conditions explorer.exe is using only 5 MB of memory and no CPU resources. I cannot restart explorer from within the Task Manager. All it does is stop.I've tried SFC, no issues found.What could it be?

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

Search from the start menu - black box, no apps

Hello community,

I've been searching from the start menu successfully for programs not in the programs list: CMD and Power Shell to run as administrator (WIN + R doesn't provide right clicking to set administrator).

Today when I searched, the search box turned solid black with the dots moving at the top, then nothing happens. Is there a way to resolve this as I cannot access CMD or Power Shell to run tasks to check system integrity.
