Windows 10: WINDOWS 11 - BLANK WHITE TASKBAR WHEN CONNECTING AND CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

Please, do assist in solving this problem. I am using an Ideapad 3 core i5 with 6gb ram and 256 gb SSD. Problem is, I want to retrieve files from an external hard drive from my old PC. Using an external hard drive adapter with 12VAC power source, the external hard drive is readable at first by the File Explorer. But after opening the said drive, it hangs and leaves the taskbar blank white. Disconnecting the hard drive disables this blank white taskbar and I can then proceed to normal use. Please, if anyone can be of help, do reply. Thank you very much in advance.

Connecting External Hard Drive to Network

I would like to have an external hard drivecontinuously connected to my home network. My router does not have a USB port and I do not have any PC that is connected 100% of the time to the home network. (my PCs are running Win 11 Home edition

Is there a hardware device I should purchase or are there external hard drives thatcan connect through wifi to the network.

Please give me your suggestions

Typically when you plug in an External hard drive, Windows will see it is connected and load the appropriate software, then you should be able to use that drive . . .

Connect your external hard drive

Open Windows File Explorer, on the left click 'This PC' on the right, do you see your external hard drive?

 

Acomdata External Hard Drive not connecting

My Acomdata external hard drive seems to connect and disconnect seconds later. It is apparently not connected long enough to display in file explorer. I have an Acer Aspire desk top running Windows 10. Would appreciate any suggestions.
