    Hello all, today I have encountered what in my few years of working with pcs is the most confusing issue I have encountered thus far. I opened my pc to replace the thermal paste on the cpu as it was thermal throttling, put it back together, and originally I had the error 0xc000000d. I used one of the bcd programs either bcdedit or bcdboot, I can't remember which one to attempt and fix it, now it boots to error 0xc000225. I have attempted to do sfc /scannow in recovery, but when it seems like it is going to repair something it gives me the error "Windows Resource Protection Could Not Perform

    Best thermal paste

    Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.

    For the Core i7, I suggest drawing a 7 with thermal paste. For the core i5, a 5.

    I've been using MX-2 for some time now and it works wonderfully. When the prices lower a bit I'll start using MX-3.
