Windows 10: Windows 11 boots up with desktop on smaller screen over lock screen.

Friend has an issue I cant seem to solve where Windows 11 23H2 on an HP PC with 6th Gen Intel CPU, Intel integrated graphics, HP 1080p monitor comes up from sleep mode like the pics below. Intel graphics driver is updated, nothing odd in graphics properties or device manager, I disabled hybrid sleep and later sleep mode but the system still manages to sleep and always comes up like this after the update to 23H3, on 23H2 it was just occasional. Lock screen first looks like this:Then desktop appears thusly:23H3 changed it a bit, now it wakes with smaller screen under desktop icons with lock scre

I suggest you to follow the steps below to set the lock screen option as Windows Spotlight and check if it helps.

1. Right click on Desktop screen.

2. Then click on Personalize.

3. Click on Lock Screen.

4. Try to select Windows Spotlight from the list.

Windows Spotlight on the lock screen

There are multiple causes on why you're encountering this issue. To further troubleshoot the issue, we suggest that you disable and re-enable Spotlight. Simply follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the desktop and open Personalize.
• Open Lock Screen tab.
• Under Background, switch from Windows Spotlight to a Picture or the Slideshow.
• Click OK and close the Window.
• Now Log off and log in.
• Navigate to Lock screen and enable Windows Spotlight again.

• When you say that "I can't activate it again.", are you referring that you are not able to Activate Windows 10?
