Windows 10: Windows 11 Bootup Hangs at Dell Logo Circle Ring after Malicious File Removal Update

I'm on W11 on a Dell XPS 8930. It seems that Windows detects its system files as malicious.Spoiler, I got the system back up and running.Windows updated the Malicious software definitions and other updates and rebooted on 2024.10.20. After the reboot, the computer ran fine. An hour later Windows notified me that it found a threat. This is a work computer and it has no non-authentic software. I checked to see what files it found and apparently they were msi extension files in a windows update folder path. When I went back to let Windows to allow them, it removed them and I couldn't go back to s

Windows 10 Bootup after 1803 Update

I seem to be having a problem booting up my computer after I installed the 1803 Update. When I do a Restart, the spinning circle of dots is on a black display forever and ever. It seems like it is trying to boot up but can't for some reason. Isn't
there an "F" key that you can tap when you see the Dell blue logo or something? My understanding is that Windows first looks at the hard drive for the boot files and I don't see anyway that a bootup using a flash drive would work. Can anyone suggest a procedure
to use to get around the hard drive bootup? I am at a loss on where to go because without a bootup, I'm dead in the water.

 

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Is the issue persisting after upgrading to Windows 10 or after installing an update in Windows 10?

I suggest you to perform a Power Drain by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.
