Windows 10: Windows 11 BSOD Loop - KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALS

I have been running Windows 11 without issues for a little while, but ~1 week ago I started getting into a loop of both KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALS BSOD's. Since this I have tried the followingsome of these steps may be nonsensical but I've gotten a bit desperate...Swap ram into different slots A1/B1 or A2/B2Only use 1 stick of RAM in various slotsBoth steps above with new sticks of RAMReinstall Windows without wiping all filesFully wipe all files and reinstall WindowsRun sfc /scannowRun the Windows Memory Diagnostic toolI am just not too sure what else to do at

Random IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSODs

Hi, I am getting frequent (from immediately after startup to couple days) BSODs, usually with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error codes.

My setup is ASUS K501UW laptop (i7-6500U, GTX 960M, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 750GB HDD) with Dell D3100 dock station, though it is doubtful that the latter is the reason - BSODs also occurred when the dock was disconnected. Windows has been recently reinstalled from scratch and all drivers updated, to no avail.

BSoD with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ntoskrnl.exe

I’m constantly getting crashes with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I’ve done memory diagnostics and chkdsk so it’s not a hardware problem.

BSODs Win 11, IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE , IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL , EXCEPTION_ON_INVALID_STACK , KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED , SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Hi,

~10 days ago, seemingly out of nowhere I started getting BSODs. The messages were:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - What failed: ntoskrnl.exe

BAD_POOL_CALLER

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION - What failed: FLTMGR.SYS

The only thing I had changed recently was installing a new keyboard the night before. This keyboard did automatically prompt to install some software (not a windows prompt for drivers or something, but some sort of software to control keyboard features I guess). I didn't install it. I was only getting these BSODs when playing a video game. Other than that the computer seemed to be working normally.

I followed the instructions on some website guide I found for one of the errors, the steps I took were:



Disabling Fast Boot

Doing a Clean Boot

Running Windows Memory Diagnostic

At this point I ran into an issue. Windows Memory Diagnostic was completely blank, and was not responsive.





So I ran Memtest86 instead. I ran this for ~4 hours, 2 passes (no errors found) I also unplugged the new keyboard that was recently installed.

Even though I didnt do anything that should resolve the problem, it completely went away.

Until this morning, at which point I started getting BSODs again. This time the errors were: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

EXCEPTION_ON_INVALID_STACK

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
