Windows 11 BSOD with new SSD

I recently took apart my laptop and replaced my old ssd with a new 1 TB one. I had flashed the operating system onto the new SSD using diskgenius. However, ever since I swapped it out I got BSODs. I've gotten all sorts of BSOD error codes, but the most common one seems to be INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Some of them said CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED and some said WDF_VIOLATION although that one isn't as common. At one point I couldn't even boot to my login screen and sometimes it bluescreened when I logged in. It would blue screen, restart, and immediately bluescreen again. I tried reinstalling window

    :)

Windows 11 BSOD During Setup on M.2 SSD

I think I found the fix. As mentioned, I did upgrade my PSU, but I kind of doubt that was the actual fix. I did find a setting in the UEFI options though which was set to PEG for PCIe graphics instead of IGD for integrated graphics. I can't say for sure if I changed that accidentally at some point, or if it was always PEG. I also can't say for sure which of the two fixed it for me, but I can confirm I have Windows 11 installed from the same thumb drive, to my Kingston KC3000 1TB M.2 SSD. I have run Windows update and installed a few programs. Zero BSOD.

    • Installed a new PSU. My old power supply was 11 years old. Upgraded to a Corsair RM650x.
    • Checked UEFI settings and in the Graphics settings, I found an option for IGD/PEG which was set to PEG. I changed this to IGD.
Hope this helps! Thanks everyone for the input. Not sure why the PEG setting might cause the BSOD, but perhaps because the M.2 share the PCIe bus, whereas the SATA SSD do not?

Z Book BSOD with Second SSD Drive

    Hi all

I have an issue with an HP Z Book. It is a new Generation 6 device and came with a pre-installed second SSD drive.

All worked fine until I tried to put our corporate image onto the primary OS SSD.

Firstly, the new OS installed onto the secondary SSD rather than the primary.

So I disconnected/removed the secondary, recreated the partition on the primary and loaded our stock OS.

The machine now works absolutely fine, as long as I do not try to re-introduce the second SSD drive.

If I reinstall this, the machine boots up OK for a second or two and then BSOD's.

Can anyone suggest the reason for this issue - the BSOD message reported a kernel error.

Any ideas on steps to take to resolve this?

    Thanks

    Phil
