Windows 11 Cannot Open File Explorer or Recycle Bin

Hello, I need help with an issue I'm having. Recently, I could not get the Windows 11 23H2 update to update. I got the "something didn't go right" error. Reading on other forums, I read that it might help to delete the $winREAgent folder so I did but the update was still unsuccessful. Fast forward to today, now I can't get my file explorer or recycle bin to stay open. They both crash upon opening. I also still have the issue with getting it to update too.I tried restarting the PC, resetting the PC and the sfc scan but nothing has worked. Can anybody help me with the two problems I'm hav

    :)

    recycle bin

    Hi George,

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
    • Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
    • Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Recycle Bin

    Open File Explorer

In the Path bar at the top of the folder list to the right of the small icon the is an Arrow head pointing right. Click on it and it points down with a folder list including the Recycle bin.
