Windows 10: Windows 11 - Can't extend desktop - it automatically resets

I got a new Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 from the Microsoft store System SKU LENOVO_MT_82A6_BU_idea_FM_IdeaPad Slim 7 14ITL05 . Works great overall, but there's a fatal problem with multiple monitors and Windows 11: whenever I click to extend the display onto the second monitor, the dialog vanishes:Note how it is now minimized:Now when I click to bring it back up, it switches back to duplicating the display:Is there anything you can do to help me with this?Thanks!- Paul

Hi Sandra,

To help you out with your concern, we suggest that you disable the add-ons in Internet Explorer 11. For step by step instructions, go to this

link, then look for the title Turning off and removing add-ons.

We also suggest that you reset Internet Explorer 11 through these steps:

• Go to Internet Explorer then click the Gear icon.
• Choose Internet options > Advanced.
• Click Reset.

(Note: If you have added Favorites, back up them first before resetting the browser. )

Extended desktop

To better understand your concern about multiple displays in Windows 10, we'd like to know the following:

• The type of connection that you're using to extend your PC's monitor.
• The process that you've performed to extend your PC's display.
• The last activities performed on your PC prior to your concern.

Also, we'd like to request for a screenshot of the Display settings of your PC's second screen. To check the Display settings, you can perform the following:

• Right-click anywhere on your Desktop.
• Click on Display settings.
• Under Customize your display, select the second screen.

How to extend desktop across two screens on homegroup

I suggest you to refer to the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Right-click the desktop, and select
  Properties or Personalize.
  
• 
  Next select Display Settings from the list of
  preferences.
  
• 
  You should see icons with numbers representing your attached monitors. If one is disabled, it will be grayed out.
  
• 
  Select the second monitor and choose to either
  extend your desktop or mirror your desktop.
  
• 
  Your options may be dependent on the graphics card that you have
  installed.
  
• 
  You may need to make these changes from within your
  control panel. If you have these installed, they can be found in your
  Start menu
