Windows 10: Windows 11 can't properly run Adobe CS4, even after looking up solutions

TL;DR at the very bottomHi.After an array of computers that just won't work properly, I have went about my first day of using a desktop computer re-setting up everything that comes to software, along with uninstalling programs that I don't want, like OneDrive. I have very few programs that I use, whether it be for personal use or anything else. These programs include but aren't limited to: FL Studio 2024, Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 2005, Audacity 2.3.X c. 2019, iTunes 7 2006, and last but definitely most importantly, Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 both 2008.For a litt

A look at running older versions of Adobe Creative Suite on Windows 10 - CS4

Summary

In these series of articles, I will look at installing and using popular applications in the Adobe Creative Suite specifically focusing on older releases. Since the introduction of Adobe CS in 2003, the company has released revisions with enhanced features
for its community of creative users almost every year. Persons who upgrade to Windows 10 might be interested in knowing if their older version works on Microsoft's latest operating system. Because of the depth of the suite, testing multiple versions then compiling
a single article would be overwhelming, so I decided to split it into multiple articles by version. Please read on to learn more.

Please note, these articles are not exhaustive in trying out features and functions of the suite or individual apps. I focus mainly on installation and launching the apps after setup. Users who might report of issues with installing Adobe CS4 can look factors
why the suite might not install successfully:

• Damaged setup files
• Scratched disc/s
• Running open applications during setup - close them before doing so (this includes your web browser).
• Security utilities such as Antivirus or Firewall might be blocking setup.
• Older version of the suite or applications installed.

Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) was released in 2008. It includes Adobes key applications Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro and Dreamweaver etc. For the purposes of this I am using the Master Collection which is the most complete edition in product lineup
at the time.

Installation:





Setup starts and works without issue.





I encounter my first blocker Adobe Flash CS4 reports it failed setup. Interestingly, I was able to use Adobe Flash Professional CS4 without issue. Just click
Continue to install the rest of the suite if you encounter this error.





Installation continues without issue.





Thats it, the suite installed successfully with exception of the Adobe Flash CS4 error. Lets move on to launching and using the applications.

A look at running older versions of Adobe Creative Suite on Windows 10 - CS4

As you know, Creative Suite is over, replaced by Creative Cloud, and CS4 is an older version of Creative Suite.

If you depend on CS4 for your living, or for some other critical reason, and it works well for you on Windows 7, why do you want to install Windows 10?

Adobe is clearly not supporting CS4 on Windows 10, which means it hasn't tested CS4 on Windows 10 (and won't) and isn't keeping it up to date with the changes to Windows. If you run into a problem with CS4 on Windows 10, Adobe won't help you.

That said, just because software is no longer supported doesn't necessarily mean you can't use it any longer. CS4 might work perfectly well for you on Windows 10. Or it might not. And if it works well now, it may not work well after the next update.

It's not my place to tell you what you should do. If it was me, and my livelihood depended on CS4, I would leave it running on Windows 7. On the other hand, if my livelihood depended on it, I would be using Creative Cloud.
