  1. Windows 11 can't shutdown .... only restarts or force shutdown, how do i fix this?

Just was having a normal day on my laptop yesterday ... and when I pressed the shutdown option in the start menu as normally should be done and instead of shutting down... it restarts. So I'm forced to force shutdown by pressing the power button on my keyboard I got an acer laptop on windows 11 btwI thought the next day it would be fine... so when i try again it does the same thing ... restarts instead of shutting down. I tried many other alternate ways of shutting down by using alt f4 , cmd , ctrl alt delete , and even Googled a python script to shutdown! and none worked ... so eve

    :)

How to force close all apps on restart or shutdown ?

Create a shortcut on the desktop that has this in it:

    shutdown /f /r /t 0

/f = Force running applications to close without forewarning users.
/r = Full shutdown and restart the computer.
/t 0 = Set the time-out period before shutdown to 0 seconds (immediate restart).

Enter shutdown /? from a Command Prompt for the full list of options.

I think you're better off to wait a bit and let the programs and services close on their own, If they don't after 30 seconds or so then force them closed.

Windows 10 pro will not shutdown or restart. Gets stuck

When you say "force shutdown" you mean you hit the power button?

    Try from a CLI:
    shutdown.exe /force
