Windows 10: Windows 11 caused crash and other problems

I upgraded to Windows 11 and had nothing but trouble. Everything was freezing all the time and I was restarting all the time. I decided to go back to Windows 10 and that crashed and I had to reset everything. Luckily, I had backed up my files. I still lost what was on my desktop....not much. I am not a person who likes to spend a lot of time farting around with my computer and don't have the greatest knowledge. Now I am afraid to upgrade again to windows 11 for fear that I will encounter the same problem. If I was in excel and wanted to look at my options window it would freeze. If I wanted t

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Windows Explorer crashes and thumbnails problem

Hi, I hope you can help me.
Windows Explorer is no longer showing thumbnails on files played by Windows Media Player. I've run cmd and regsvr32 shmedia.dll and regsvr32 shimgvw.dll. That seemed to solve the problem...but it created a different one. Now when I try to open a folder on an external hard drive it crashes. I read in an old 2008 post it was an avi file causing the problem and suggested the run cmd regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll. That solved the opening problem but recreated the thumbnail problem. Any help to achieve both functions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

firefox and IE will cause problems?

could there be any reasonable explanation why firefox and ie would cause problems?

oh, and when the machine crashes it is the blue screen of death and when windows recovers it suggests bios update. this is a machine that hasnt been upgraded driver wise or bios wise, yet they insist it is firefox. give me a break.
