  1. Windows 11 causing audio delay on applications varying from 0.5-4ish seconds

I recently updated to windows 11 and it has caused a weird bug? where certain applications will only play sound after a few seconds of that application making sound ex. on google a youtube video needs to play for a few seconds before being able to hear it. This primarily happens on google and discord discord being not able to hear message notifications or voice channel join/leave sounds.I have tried looking at other forums and doing stuff such as checking for driver updates and was wondering what else i should try to fix this issue. Thanks

    :)

Audio Half a Second Delayed (Windows 11, Bose QC earbuds)

I am having an issue where my sound is around half a second delayed, and I can't figure out why. Let's run through the obvious stuff I've done:

    • Restart my computer (multiple times)
    • Updated my computer
    • Check audio drivers for updates
    • Test multiple different applications (they're all delayed)
    • Test my earbuds with my iphone (no delay)
    • Test built-in computer speakers (no delay, so there must be an issue with windows connecting to this specific device)
Closest I've gotten to fixing it was opening up the audio enhancement menu, which brought a dramatic decrease in audio quality but somehow (magically?) fixed the delay, before even making any adjustments. I restarted my computer again and now this menu does nothing, not even decrease the audio quality. I've tried disabling all the audio enhancements and no noticeable change occurs anymore. I'm at a loss for what I should try next, I would appreciate any advice.

  3. Wireless headphones don't play audio for anywhere between ~5-30 seconds and then the audio works.

    Hi, Patrick Mitchell1_283

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you have encountered the problem of wireless headset delay. From your description, it seems to be related to the driver or the hardware itself. I suggest that you can check it from the following aspects first:

    1. Check the driver problem:

    • Update your audio driver to the latest version. You can do this through Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.
    • Go to Device Manager, locate the "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" section, and then right-click your audio device. Select Update Driver.

    2. Disable power management:

    • In Device Manager, right-click the audio device and select Properties.
    • Go to the Power Management tab.
    • Uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
    • Click Apply, and then click OK.

    3. Check the Bluetooth settings:

    • Go to. Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices
    • Make sure that your headphones are listed under Connected and that the connection is stable.
    • Try turning Bluetooth off and on again.

    4. Use different matching methods:

    • Try deleting the headset from the list of Bluetooth devices in Windows and pairing it again.
    • Using a wired connection, try to see if there is any delay.

    5. Test with other equipment:

    • If you have other Bluetooth headsets or Bluetooth devices available, try to use other devices to test whether there is any delay on the computer. If the delay is eliminated, it means that your headset hardware problem or headset firmware is incompatible with the system. It is suggested that you can visit Beats official website to download drivers that meet your device model and system.

    6. Check for Windows updates:

    • Make sure that your Windows installation is up to date. System updates can solve compatibility problems.

    7. Use different audio applications:

    • Try using another audio application, such as Windows Media Player or VLC Media Player, to see if the problem is specific to the application you are currently using.

If you have tried all the above steps and the problem persists, it may be helpful to contact Beats Support or Dell Support for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance or propose solutions.

5 second audio delay with every start/pause on Windows 10

    Hi Kristina,

Based on your concern, it appears that there is a 5 second audio delay every time you play a video file on your desktop or online.

To help us isolate the issue and eventually come up with the best resolution, kindly provide us the following information.

    • What changes have you made prior to this issue?
    • Do you have other User Accounts? If yes, kindly check if the same issue is also happening.
    • Have you tried to run your computer on Safe Mode and check if the issue will persist?

    Looking forward to your response.
