Windows 10: Windows 11 claims a Manual IP when IP is still set to Dynamic

My daughter's Windows 11 pc suddenly, overnight, stopped connecting to our wifi.First I checked security settings to make sure no parental controls were in place to prevent her connecting, and reset the router. Just unplugged the thing for thirty seconds.Then I "forgot" the network on her list of found networks and attempted to reconnect.Then I tried ipconfig /release - which returned an error stating "unable to reach RPC server"....same with /renew obviously.Then I reset the Network Adapters on her system, no change.Ran a Defender scan, no results.Then I hit the "Get Help" button, and r

Ethernet card dynamic IP reset

My Ethernet card requires manual (troubleshooting) when it changes from my provider (dynamic) after shut down and restart.

meaning while the pc is shut down the provider changes the dynamic ip address and when I restart the computer it gives me no internet access until i run the trouble shooter......

is there a setting to not have this happen ?

still using the provider dynamic ip set not changing to a dedicated ip address for the provider.

• Right click on Start Menu to open the Power User menu and select Control Panel.
• Choose Network and Internet and click on Network Sharing Center.
• Select Change Adapter settings from the left pane.
• Right-click on the network adapter you want to assign an IP address and click Properties.
• Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then click the Properties button.
• Now change the IP, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Server Addresses. When you’re finished click OK.
• You’ll need to close out of Local Area Connection Properties for the settings to go into effect.

Open the Command Prompt and type ipconfig to verify if the changes were successful.
