  1. Windows 11, copying files between hard drives painfully slow

Has anyone else experiencing extremely long times for copying one hard drive to another?I'm trying to copy all the files from a standard 3.5" hard drive to an SSD.It's almost 1TB of data but the speeds continuosly drop to less than 1MB/s when in safe mode, as running the PC in it's normal mode stalled the copying process with it showing 0KB/s.I am on the latest version of Windows and with the newest updates with the apparent bug fix.I am on day 3 of copying these files.I have tried all the "fixes" that show up on Google and both hard drives have "full control" by myself/all users.Hoping someon

    :)

  2. Copy Files from Hard Drive to SD Card - Painfully Slow Transfer

SD cards are usually always painfully slow nothing you can do about it unless you spend about 10 times the price and get the faster ones.

From what I remember the fastest I have gotten is around 8 MB/s on the cheaper type, I have never used the more expensive ones.

Here are the speed class marks.
Note: You probably have a class 10

Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

    Hey Guys,
What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.

Any suggestions? *Smile Windows 11, copying files between hard drives painfully slow :)

Copy Files from Hard Drive to SD Card - Painfully Slow Transfer

Had the same problem transferring photos. Not big ones, just a lot of them. I disconnected my internet connection (offline) and they went very quickly. Must be trackers, clouds, algorithms, Norton, Windows, Adobe, etc. communicating our every move. Anyway, went from an estimated 11 hours to less than one hour. Hope this helps.

painfully slow file operations on ogg and opus files: deleting/moving ogg or opus files is painfully slow, like freezing-for-a-few-minutes slow, not running slow. and it seems to be the explorer's problem because every other software works with these files just fine, import, edit, export, as usual, it's just the explorer that...

Windows Defender makes it painfully slow to access files: I'm new to using Defender. I finally got sick of AVG and dumped it.
