Windows 10: Windows 11 Cortana/Taskbar search

Discus and support Windows 11 Cortana/Taskbar search in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; Is there any way to change settings of Windows 10/11 when user search via taskbar/Cortana search and select Documents in option, that search result...     Windows 11 Cortana/Taskbar search


    Is there any way to change settings of Windows 10/11 when user search via taskbar/Cortana search and select Documents in option, that search result would include indexes result as well. Right now user can search for indexed folder via File Explorer, in taskbar search it would not find results and suggest to search with link in file explorer. Thank you for suggestions.

    Cortana Taskbar Search Not Working

    Cortana taskbar search shows up but when you click on it, you cannot enter text. Also even though you can see the Cortana control panel listing when searching in Settings when you click on it it does not open. I checked and the Cortana files are in the System Apps folder. The Cortana process does not show up in Task Manager processes. It looks like some built in Win 10 Microsoft apps are disabledoing in Apps and Settings. See attached pics. Any tips would help fix this Cortana taskbar search issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Winaero didn't disable web search either.

    The system where Cortana cannot be disabled has Windows 10 Pro "N" version, while the other has Windows 10 Pro. In the "N" version Cortana does not work in the taskbar, until the multimedia pack is installed. Could that be the limiting factor in disabling Cortana? I don't recall, if this had been the source of the issue in the previous version.

    Blocking both Cortana and Edge outbound access does work, of course:

    The search results still display the suggested web link(s) and opens Edge, if clicked on. Edge displays the "Hmmm...can’t reach this page" error message. Using the firewall for this purpose is way over the board and may cause issues down the road. It's certainly not the preferred way doing this....

    I have a lot of space for display content in Cortana search list, and 80% of it not used because Cortana sorting items by types.
    How disable all filters and make visible all suggested content?
