Windows 10: Windows 11 deactivated after BIOS update

I updated my motherboard's BIOS MSI Z690-A Pro yesterday, which led to the following error on the activation screen:"Windows reported that the hardware of your device has changed. Error code: 0xC004F211"I have a retail product key, but entering it doesn't work anymore. I used this key to do a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro several years ago. I had also used this key previously in Windows 10 Pro, and tied to my account before switching to a new Windows 11 PC where I didn't even have to log in, the product key simply worked without account.I tried using the troubleshooter and choosing the I

Windows 11 Pro deactivated after BIOS update

Hi,

My problem is that Windows 11 Pro deactivated itself after I updated my motherboard (MSI Z790 Carbon Wi-fi) BIOS. I updated it from 7D89v17 to 7D89v18. I haven't done any hardware changes so it should be still active. Troubleshooting doesn't help. I have been using local account so my current device is not listed on my Microsoft account. I also tried to use my Windows 10 Pro OEM activation key in the Change Product key section but it also fails. Previous BIOS updates worked fine. I have opened couple of service requests in Windows Get Help to get that agent to call me, but I haven't heard anything yet.

BIOS update should not ever break Windows activation!!!

i5-13600k, MSI Z790 Carbon Wi-fi, ASUS Strix RX 5700 XT

 

Updated Bios and Microsoft deactivated my Windows 11 Pro License,

After I updated my motherboard BIOS Microsoft deactivated my legal purchased WIN11 Pro 23H2 licence. My legal copy of WIn11 displays Activate Windows Go to settings to activate Windows. I cannot activate Windows.

It had been working previously as an activated copy of Win11.

I have contacted support but still awaiting a response
I am very disappointed that updating the motherboard BIOS deactivates Windows 11 & can see there are other people complaining about this.

Microsoft you need to reactivate my copy of Win!!
