  1. Windows 11 Defender not removing warning from disconnected disks

Hello!A friend had forgotten their password to two pretty old laptops. The laptops were of no interest but the disks were, so i removed the disks and collected the items of interest. However, windows defender now detects unwanted applications from these disks, even if they are not connected to my pc. The unwanted applications in question areWindows 11 Defender not removing warning from disconnected disks :pUABundler:Win32/RostpayPUA:Win32/WidditPUABundler:Win32/FusionCoreThese three are detected from executables which i have not opened. I have not detected any weird behavior on my pc, and i have scanned with both windows defender and HitmanPro without detect

  2. Problem with Windows Defender Update and Malware Removal

What is the complete name and
path where Windows Defender indicates that the thrəat resides?

Have a look where the file is located:

    QUOTE

Scan results can be viewed by opening Windows Defender and looking at the last scan details. If anything was detected, it will show in the 'History' tab. If you want to see more detailed logs, you can view them in Event Viewer > Applications and Services
Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Windows Defender > Operational. If malware was detected malware, it will show as a 'Warning' with a yellow warning sign and details.

  3. Windows defender Trojan repeated warning

I have not yet tried independent scanners or the removal guide from the first post.

I am not sure how or what a good way to access the file is to submit to virustool.

The location for affected items listed by Windows Defender Security Center C:\users\[my username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\[6 letter code]\deploy[1].xml does not exist. Presumably this is because Windows Defender quarantined this. I
presumably would need to restore this to get the file back but I am reluctant to restore something Windows Defender identifies as a threat (for obvious cautionary reasons).

The malware removal guide has an overwhelming amount of information and requires downloading, installing, accepting security warnings etc for 3rd party software that I am not familiar with so I am proceeding cautiously and incrementally and trying not to
make getting rid of a once per restart annoying message a too time consuming project. I am scanning with Malwarebytes now as a step in this process.

  4. Windows 11 Defender not removing warning from disconnected disks

Windows 10 Reset (remove files, no disk wipe) fails with Inaccessible Boot Device; Defender Offline fails with 0x8007002

Two identical Dell Inspiron 660 systems (one for each child):

    • Win7 --> Win 10 upgrades went uneventfully, normal function afterward.
    • 1st system then put through Windows 10 Reset procedure with file removal AND disk wipe, completed successfully, normal function
    • 2nd system then put through Windows 10 Reset procedure with file removal WITHOUT disk wipe --> procedure fails:
      • INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE error is thrown, with an endless reboot cycle
    • Based on
      this thread
      reference to
      KB2673509
, Windows Defender Offline downloaded and run to create USB installation
    • USB device inserted into affected system
    • Boot device sequence manually directed to USB during reboot cycle via BIOS <F12> key function
    • Windows Defender Offline initiates, but halts throwing error 0x8007002

    • This code
      appears to be
related to a problem with Windows update, which I can not rationalize given that this is explicitly an
      offline tool.
What are the suggestions for next step(s)?
