    Windows 11 Defender Periodic Scanning keeps shutting off every few days by itself.


    The periodic scanning option in Windows defender keeps turning off by itself every few days. I am running another antivirus program in addition to Windows defender so that's why I need to keep periodic scanning on always. Dell 3535 laptop running latest version of Win 11.

    Defender Periodic Scanning or Offline Scanning?

    That link does suggest it's useful to use Defender offline scanning in addition to periodic scanning and a third party real time anti virus (e.g. Kaspersky).

    Defender Periodic Scanning keeps shutting off every few days by itself.

    I run Periodic Scanning from Windows defender because I Have another antivirus program. For some reason it keeps turning off by itself every few days and I have to go in and reset it. I'm running the latest version of windows on a Dell Inspiron 3535 laptop. I would like to hope that there is something that I can do to prevent this problem from keep happening.
