Windows 10: Windows 11 - Desktop instance frequent unwarranted resizing causing stutters.

No idea what caused the issue, but starting yesterday 25/06/2022 my computer keeps resizing minimizing then restoring the desktop instance. By desktop instance I mean one instance of the Virtual Desktop. Please note that before this happened, I have not used the Virtual Desktop feature of Win 11.The computer essentially freezes once this resizing happens, and though the duration of this resizing is short ~1 second, it causes stutters in otherwise smooth performance.I have tried:1Updating Graphics Drivers2Changing desktops - create new Virtual Desktop instance and closing the old one3C

Desktop Icon Resized Itself

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about Desktop Icon Resized.

There are instances when we are on the desktop and the CTRL key was held and the mouse wheel was scrolled, the icons will really resize. On the Desktop, can you try to press and hold the CTRL key and move the mouse wheel up and down to try to resize the desktop
icons. You may also right-click on an empty space of the desktop and hover on "View" and choose the size of the desktop icons whether small, medium or large icons.

Windows 10 desktop Icon resizing?

I found out how to resize desktop icons, see below ,

To change the desktop icons take the steps below:

· Right click on an empty area of the desktop

· Select ‘View’



From here we will have three options:

· Large Icons

· Medium Icons

· Classic Icons



When you select the options listed above the icons will change based on the size selected.

To change the desktop icons take the steps below:

· Select ‘View’

Method 2:

To resize the icons on Windows 10 follow the instructions provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows logo key + I key.
• Click on System.
• In Display tab, increase the percentage or bar under change the size of text, apps and other items.
• Click on Apply button.
