    Windows 11 desktop strange behavior & icon issues


    Hello, recently did a clean install of Windows 11 Home edition. Seeing very strange behavior with my desktop. I'm unable to copy any folders or shortcuts to the desktop. I copy them and they simply don't appear. If I navigate to the designated desktop folder I see it populated with icons just one at the moment. Additionally there is no recycle bin despite it being designated as visible. Finally there is this sort of long transparent bar across the top of my screen when I hover over it. If I click it, Explorer opens to the Quick access but seems to be showing me the recycle bin. See below scr

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

    Strange Desktop Behavior

    Running Win10 with Open-ShellShortcuts can be placed on the desktop. But when you hover over a desktop icon a rectangular area about 1" highand half the desktop width changes to a blue lighter than the desktop blue.This seems to be strange behavior.Has anyone else experienced this?
