Windows 11 does not recognize storage space/pool anymore

I have two external M2.SSDs connected via storage pool in Windows 11. Everything was running fine for several months, and yesterday I started to get an error saying drive is not accessible and the parameter is incorrect.I just download DiskGenius and tried to scan the drive pool. The scan says the hard drives are healthy and there are no errors or bad sectors.I am not familiar with DiskGenius and using it for the first time. Is there any way I can recover the partition without having to format? I am able to browse the contents of my drives and see all the files. However I don't have space to b

  2. Windows 11 does not recognize storage space/pool anymore, Windows thinks that they are raw

Hello! My name is Cristiano. I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you.

Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:

    1. Make sure that all SATA cables and power connections to your storage devices are secure.

    2. Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your storage devices. You can download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

    3. Windows 11 has a built-in troubleshooter that can help you fix problems with Storage Spaces. To run the troubleshooter, open the Settings app, go to **System > Storage > Troubleshoot**, and select **Storage Spaces**.

    4. Reset the Storage Spaces service: open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type the following command:

    5. If you are unable to fix the issue, you can create a new storage pool. To do this, open the Storage Spaces app, and click **Create a new pool**.

    I hope this helps!

  3. Windows 11 does not recognize storage space/pool anymore, Windows thinks that they are raw

Please try to run a disk check on both of your storage pools. This might help Windows recognize them again and show the correct amount of used space. To do this, right-click on each pool in the settings applet and select "Properties". Then go to the "Tools" tab and click "Check" under "Error checking".

If that doesn't work, you could try disconnecting the new disks and seeing if Windows recognizes the old pool again. If it does, you could try copying the data over again using a different method, like Windows' built-in file transfer tool or a third-party tool like FastCopy.

Thank you very much for your reply.

You don't show a screenshot, so I am uncertain to which part of the process of creating a storage space you are referring. I pointed you to the tutorials. I now provide you with a screenshot of part of one of them, which shows a warning which might be what you are referring to.

Your question about double storage / redundancy appears to relate to the normal operation of storage spaces once configured, so seems obscure.

My impression is that few here have used storage spaces.
