Windows 10: Windows 11 does not show "Disconnected" user status in Task Manager

Having Windows 11 Enterprise machine with another user connected by RDP.User is visible in Task Manger / Users tab, but "Status" field is blank for all users and does not indicate whether user is in Active session or Disconnected.It was not a case with Windows 10. Looks like Microsoft dropped a useful feature. Bravo Microsoft

Sure, here are the steps on how to re-enable Task Manager on Windows 11:

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R.
   
2. Type "gpedit.msc" and press Enter.
   
3. Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Ctrl+Alt+Del Options.
   
4. In the right pane, double-click on "Remove Task Manager".
   
5. In the "Remove Task Manager" dialog box, select "Disabled" and click OK.
   
6. Close the Group Policy Editor.
   
7. Open a command prompt as administrator.
   
8. Type the following command and press Enter:
   
   attrib +h "%windir%\system32\taskmgr.exe"
   
9. Restart your computer.
   

After following these steps, Task Manager will be re-enabled. You can now open it by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Esc.

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

 

Windows 10 - cannot add exec to Startup in Task Manager

I purchased a new computer with Windows 10 already installed. I am trying to add an exec to the startup list but Win10 will not accept it. The exec runs successfully on my Windows 10 machine if I start it manually.

Steps I've taken: Task Manager, Startup Tab, File>Run New Task. (browse to location, select.) It will start immediately, but does not show up on the list to autostart, nor does it start on reboot.

Any suggestions?
