    Windows 11 doesn't renew IPs after resuming from Modern Standby


    Hello,I'm running Windows 11 Pro 24H2 build 26100.4061. Recently for the past week or so, my PC is not renewing its IPv4 and IPv6 addresses after resuming from Modern Standby. It used to work fine before. Now, ipconfig /all shows only self-assigned IPs after resuming from Standby. If I do ipconfig /renew and ipconfig /renew6, the PC pulls IP addresses without issue from my DHCP server and works fine until the next Standby event.All other devices on my LAN have no similar issue Windows 10, MacOS, iOS, Linux. I don't know if this was introduced by a recent Windows update? What can I do

    Renewing IP address

    Hey book4worm,

    first of all, I'd suggest to upgrade to Windows 10 since you'll get a ton of security features and updates that XP is missing out on.

    But to renew your IP address:

    1. Open the start menu and click on Run...
    2. Type cmd.exe. A black window will appear.
    3. Type ipconfig /renew and hit Enter.
    4. Windows will try to receive a new IP address from your DHCP server.
    If this issue persists or if the command fails, check the settings of your wifi router.
