Windows 10: Windows 11 Edge, Chrome, Outlook & Downloads Freeze

Hi,I've been searching for a solution through Microsoft communities, Google searches, YouTube videos and calling the Microsoft support help line. They have been very helpful and have spent a lot of time, probably now over 8 hours troubleshooting my PC. It seems like all the forums and service agents are doing the superficial checks, however none of those are helping. Here's my issue, I recently installed Windows 11 on a new computer. There are websites which load extremely fast. But then there are consistently slow websites, like any of the Microsoft 365 web apps, or the Outlook desktop a

Windows 10 - Outlook Hyperlinks and PDFs Opening in Edge Not Chrome

I want to once again use Chrome for URLs and Adobe Reader for PDFs, but lost this after a Windows 10 auto-update.

I now too have the situation where PDFs in emails I receive in Outlook (2010) open in Edge, and when I attach a PDF to an Outlook email it shows as an Edge doc. Also, URLs in Outlook Emails open in Edge. PDFs and URLs other than in Outlook open with my
preferences.

I've reset all the defaults I can find to associate PDFs with Adobe Reader and URLs to Chrome. Also tried the suggested regedit change. Didn't help at all.

My Set Default Programs don't show Microsoft Outlook, just:

• Microsoft account
• Microsoft Edge
• Microsoft family restrictions
• Microsoft Solitaire Collection

Control Panel shows I have both Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 (which includes Visio) and Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 - English (which includes Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).

I suggest you to try using Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge and check if the issue persists in these browsers.

If the issue persists follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to reset the settings on the Microsoft Edge web browser to check if it helps to resolve the issue.
