Windows 10: Windows 11 - Edge opens every link not just ones hard coded for edge. Default setting are...

Hello, I have Windows 11 Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621. I have had this issue for a while and it is now really being detramental. Every and I mean every hyperlink opens in Edge. Its not the defaul browser. Examples, any email with a hyperlink. Linkedin emails specific - Edge. Anything its Edge despite verifying the default is not Edge. How do I stop this? From reading posts and other sites it happens when its coded for an Edge link. Not my system it is literally everything. I have to cut and paste into my default browser that is setup with my password manager and all the other item

Can't open Outlook links in Edge

• Dose this problem occur on a particular website or all the links you try to open from Outlook?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done?

In the meantime, we suggest that you reset Microsoft Edge. Kindly refer to the steps below:

• Open Microsoft Edge.

Why do some links STILL open with Edge after setting my default browser to NOT edge

Some links are hard-coded to open in Microsoft Edge. By 'hard-coded' I mean that the link is coded by the developer to open in Microsoft Edge.

I obviously don't know why a developer chooses to do this in any particular case, but in general: Since Microsoft Edge is built into every copy of Windows, it's a way to ensure that a link will open.
