Windows 10: Windows 11 Education Recovery not taking personal email

I had to redownload Windows using a recovery drive I had made in case something went wrong when trying to dual boot. In the setup afterward, it's saying I need to sign in using an email. I used my personal email like I always had, and it won't let me us it, saying it needs to a work or school email. This computer has always been on my personal email, the device has always shown up as Windows 11 Education on my personal Microsoft account. Microsoft won't let me make a new Microsoft account using my school email.

Change from Windows 11 Educational

I got a new desktop and was setting it up. My university offers free Windows 11, but I did not realize it was the educational version. I signed up with that key and now I cannot login to my personal Microsoft account and have many apps and programs not allowed because it is the educational Version. I want to change my version to either the pro or home version so it can be a personal computer and have my personal files on there. What steps should I take to restart and change the windows key and make it a personal computer? Thank you!

How can I move from Windows 11 Education to Pro?

I used Windows 11 Education for work but now I gave the computer to my son and I want to move to Pro.

I bought a product key and tried the steps listed here but it didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
