    Windows 11 email app "Focused"


    Why? Why does Microsoft think their technology can differentiate between "important" and "other" emails? Point of fact: Today I got an email response from the FCC, and another email response from a major pharmaceutical company, and both emails went into my "other" emails.I am not talking about Outlook, I am talking about my aol and yahoo email accounts I have added to my Windows 11 email app on my desk

    Windows 10 Mail App Focused Problem

    Hi Larry,

    To turn off the Focused & other feature in the Mail app, please follow the steps below:

    • Open your Mail app
    • Click on the Settings icon (looks like a gear).
    • Click Options, and search for the layout section.
    • Under layout, find Focused Inbox. Select Don't sort messages and then hit
      Save.

    • Open your email for your Live account
    • click on the ellipsis (...) in the lower right
    • click on settings
    • scroll down to Reading and click on it
    • Scroll down to Focused inbox
    • Turn off

    Focused vs Other email app

    I used the Outlook email app in Windows 8.1. It had two categories Focused and Other. There is a similar layout on the Phone Outlook app as well. I really loved the app. It neatly categorized the email for me.

    However, when I upgraded to Windows 10, the new email app, is bland and the nice filtering that I automatically had earlier is gone. Can someone tell me how I can get the outlook email app that I had on 8.1 back in Windows 10?
