Windows 10: Windows 11 Enterprise - File Explorer, Save As: stop sorting on Type

In Windows 11 Enterprise, for file explorer and save as, files and folders are always sorted first by Type - even with Name or Date modified selected from the sort menu. Clicking the Name or Date modified columns will sort on those values only after it sorts on Type first. I want to be able to sort strictly on alpha or strictly on date modified. Yes, mixing file folder, shortcuts, and other file types - just sort on alpha or date!! With dates I do not want to see shortcuts that are 5 years old before the folder I updated yesterday. This occurs regardless of what "Group by" is set to even

Hi! I'm italian, so excuse me for my english...

I have a htc touch pda with wm6...two days ago i try to sort file list in windows directory by type and from there the pda never stop to "work"...i've reset the pda and at the beginning seems all ok, but if i go in file explore it work yet.

What have i to do????

Sorting with File Explorer.

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to automatically save a file in Internet Explorer 11:

• In Internet Explorer 11, you'll have to click first on a file of the type you want to open automatically.
• This will show you the Open/Save prompt.
• Select the Save option.
• In Internet Explorer, click Tools.
• Click the View Download options.
• You will see a popup containing the file that you downloaded.
• Make sure to uncheck the option "Always ask before opening this type of file."
