Windows 10: Windows 11 Explorer Search and Sorting

Hello! I'm experiencing really annoying issue with Windows Search and want to know, how this can be resolved. The problem is, when the search is done, I need to sort results, but this forces windows to search again instead of normally organizing the results. Why? Who came up with this stupidity? The search is done, nothing is added or removed, so why search again because I need the results sorted after name or date. This really gets on nerves, especially because sometimes I get thousands of results. On older versions it wasn't an issue.So please let me know how to change this. Simple settings

Sorting with File Explorer.

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.

Sorting Windows Explorer Search

I use the Explorer search function all the time. I am almost always just searching My Documents (and all subfolders), and I want results with the search word in the title AND contents. This works fine: no problems. When the search word appears in the title/name,
it is highlighted yellow. These used to be listed first, at the top, but now they are throughout the list. I want them at the top, but can't figure out how to do this. I must have changed something, because they used to be at the top. Right now they are sorted
by NAME.

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
