Windows 10: Windows 11 extend screen cursor entering wrong side

Hi.Asking this for a colleague. She has Windows 11 on her laptop. I want to extend her display to an external screen. I can do everything except for making the external screen the main display to get the cursor going the right way. The main screen external display is in front of her and the laptop on the left but the cursor moves to the laptop from the right of the main screen. As far as I can see, there is no "Make this my main display" button in the settings. Please help?

Black screen after 'Starting Windows' sequence

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

They, also, have some other options there, too.
Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

 

Windows 11 Black Screen with Cursor

I have a Dell Vostro 5481. After upgrading to Windows 11 it hangs on a black screen with a cursor for about an hour and fifteen minutes before displaying the login screen. This does not happen in safe mode.

I have tried everything, uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics driver, resetting the machine, doing a clean install of Windows 11 and nothing seems to resolve this issue.

I'm at my wits end with this machine. Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

Windows 10 Black Screen, No Cursor

Please follow the below suggestion and check if that helps.

If you see the black screen only
after sign-in and you can see a mouse cursor:

• While at the black screen, try using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to start Task Manager.
  
• If it becomes visible, try finding LockAppHost.exe on the Details tab and ending the task.
  

If this resolves the black screen, use corruption resolution steps.

Perform SFC scan.

I would also suggest you to run the System update readiness command. It detects incorrect manifests, cabinets or registry data, it may replace the incorrect data with corrected version available. Follow the steps.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click command prompt (Run as administrator).
• In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press
  Enter key after each command:
  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type
Exit, and then press Enter.
