Windows 10: Windows 11 - Extended Monitor Second Display Not Working? ITUNES Update caused the problem!

Hello,I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1. Purchased in 2022. Operating system Windows 11.I had a problem immediately with my second monitor/extended display "Windows Cannot Detect". The computer could recognize there was a device connected. However, windows display settings continued to say "Cannot detect".Earlier today I downloaded iTunes via Apple Website, then needed an update to restore my iPad. iTunes prompted me for a required update in order to restore my iPad.As soon as I updated to the latest version of iTunes, upon restarting my computer, my second monitor no longer showed anything and

Extend Display to second and third monitors

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are unable to extend the display to second or third monitor. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, it would be great if you can help us with the details requested below:

• What happens when you try to extend the display?
  
• Do you receive any error message/code?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  
• What is the make and model of the laptop?
  

Ideally, to extend the display we can use the shortcut Windows logo key + P, and select
Extend from the menu.

Cannot extend display to second monitor

I am using windows 10 pro on my Powerspec desktop PC. I have one HP monitor and one AOC monitor. I had three monitors (one HP and 2 AOC monitors) working fine using extended display. After removing one monitor (now have 2), the extended display does not work any more. I can use "Duplicate these displays", "Show only on 1" or "Show only on 2", all work fine, except "Extend these displays". When I select Extended, the second screen shows up with task bar, but I cannot move any window onto the second screen. The mouse does not move over either. I tried update the display driver, rebooting computer, reconnect the cable, nothing works! What's wrong?

 

Second monitor not detected after update

Hi Tom,

There are several reasons that could have caused the issue you are experiencing. One of these is the update you previously performed in Windows, either it was not configured properly by the system or the update components were corrupted. Kindly answer the
following questions for clarification:

• Have you tried updating the monitor and display drivers?
• Have you tried to use another user profile to check if the issue re-occurs?

Furthermore, we suggest that you add the other monitor manually. This is to ensure that the second monitor is still connected after the update. Here are the steps:

• Type connected devices and open Connected Devices on the
  Windows Search bar.
• Click Add devices.
• Select the Second screen.
• Pick one of the 3 options: Duplicate, Extend, and the Second screen only.
• The Duplicate option will duplicate the primary display to secondary display.
• The Extend option will unite two monitors so you can use them both as one.
• The Second screen only option will, obviously, disable primary and use only the secondary monitor.
• Once you’ve chosen the preferred mode, save changes.
