Windows 10: Windows 11 File explorer crashes with right-click in file pane on ALL my computers after...

After the latest windows update, when I right click on the file pane on the left side, it makes everything freeze except closing the explorer menu. I have 3 windows 11 desktops and a windows 10 desktop and 4 laptops, after the latest update it does this 100% of the time on all laptops and desktops and they are all clean installs of windows 11. I am also a minimalist I don't put much stuff on the pcs, I do have powertoys installed. My windows 10 is fine it doesn't do this.

Windows 11 File explorer crashes with right-click in file pane.

After upgrade to Windows 11 the File Explorer crashes when right clicking in the fight (file) pane. No context menu pops up, but the file explorer crashes instead.

This happens 100% of the times one does a right click. Right click in the left pane works OK.

What can be done about that? I already did sfc /scannow, and the RestoreHealth thing.

thats wierd... iv never had a large file crash explorer before....


and i have files ranging upto 80GB...

I understand that you are not getting the details of the file in File Explorer. We will help you.

I suggest you to refer the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + E keys, opens the File explorer.
• Click on the View tab in File ribbon.
• Click on the Details Pane. Check if the details are appearing in File explorer after selecting any files.
