  2. Filename is Randomly Highlighted while Renaming Files in OneDrive Synced Folders

    Hi all,

I've been having this issue in windows 10 (version 21H1) when renaming a file that's synced to a OneDrive folder. Often times, I'll append a filename with a couple of characters to denote revisions. While I'm renaming the file, the entirety of the file gets highlighted, and as I add these few characters, the original filename gets wiped.

For example, attempting to change test.txt to test-1.txt ( | represents the cursor, bold green represents highlighted text:

    • Start with: test.txt
    • Rename file (press F2): test.txt
    • Arrow right to move cursor to end of filename: test|.txt
    • Start adding characters: test-|.txt
    • Entire filename (sans extension) will be highlighted: test-.txt
    • Before I can react, I add my next character, which replaces the "test-" with the next character: 1|.txt
This only happens once in a while, but when it does, it generally happens multiple times in a row. Again, it only seems to happen to OneDrive synced folders. I see this issue elsewhere online, but have seen no solutions that worked.

My OneDrive version is 2022, build 22.055.0313.0001 (64 bit)

    Thanks!

How to Make Windows 10 Bat File to Bulk Rename Filenames in txt file

Hello, Just wondering if anyone can help me.

I would like to create a bat file that will run in windows 10 that can duplicate one jpeg image file ( test.jpg. )
to a list of filenames ( one per line ) found in a text file ( test.txt )
This means if i had a list of 100 image filenames or more in a text file it would duplicate the single image file 100 times and rename them based on the filenames within the text file.

an example of the filenames in text file
    chair.jpg
    house.jpg
    tree.jpg

    Thank you.

Windows 11 File Manager, can't rename correct folder or filename

    can not rename a folder

after accidentally deleting some registry keys, something happens to my windows, here is the description:

    1. in explorer, create a folder, and type a new name for "new folder", after hitting "enter", an error message window shows "Can't find the specified file; make sure you specify the correct path and file name"; click the button "Cancel", a message box shows "The file or folder does not exist", click the button "Ok"; then the folder leave as "new folder"
    2. in explorer, rename a folder, and the same thing happens.
    3. in cmd, ren "new folder" "anything", it works.
    4. in explorer, can not drag and drop a folder
so, I can use cmd to create and rename a folder.

any suggestions to fix the registry are appreciated.

    Thanks,
