Windows 10: Windows 11 Firewall blocks APO communication

Hello there!Seems like I'm missing some important change of Windows 11 Firewall.We have an application that consists of 2 parts: windows application APP and audio processing object APO. They communicate between each other through gRPC client-server model on localhost - works like a charm on Windows 8 and 10.However on Windows 11, APO port 127.0.0.1:10000 is "FILTERED" by the firewall. APO part cannot connect to APP 127.0.0.1:20000, and APP cannot connect to APO connection failed, deadline exceeded, etc..It only became apparent after I switched to Port Query tool, because netstat was

Windows Firewall blocking websites

I have blocked IP addresses, e.g. 255.255.255.255, not URLs, e.g. somewebsite.co m.

As far as unblocking, look at your Windows Firewall rules. Do you see anything that is blocked? If you do, click on the Scope tab and see what is listed there.

Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

Hi,

Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

• Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
  Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall.
• A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
• Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.
