    Windows 11 Folder sort by name and go to the first filename by pressing a letter doesn't work


    Just installed Windows 11 and there are a few things missing that I use a lot. One of them is sorting a folder by name in Explorer and then hitting a key to find the first file beginning with that letter. As soon as I press a letter it jumps into the Search, but I just want to go to the first file with that letter.So frustrating when Microsoft takes away working functionality. Maybe there's a fix or a toggle?

    Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

    I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

    Sort within folders

    Yep, you can click on "date" in the results window and it will cycle "ascending" and "descending", when I am looking for a file from a specific date I do this. Also, if you know the first letter of the filename you are looking for, you can put the cursor on the first item in an alphabetically sorted list, then press the key corresponding with the first letter in the filename, and it will bring you to the general area. That for me has always been the fastest search method. But when I can't recall the exact name, I always DO recall when I got the file, and this method works very well.

    Cool the group by name thing seems like it will work okay. Thanks.
