  1. WIndows 11 Forced Upgrade - Start Menu Lost Groups

In Windows 10 I had the start menu organized by groups so I knew where to look for the apps I use most frequently. This computer randomly decided to force Windows 11 down my throat last night so now I have to deal with the "improved" start menu.Does *anyone* at Microsoft ever count how many additional clicks they force us to go through?I guess I'm going back to putting all the shortcuts on my desktop. This is so stupid. So the question, is there any way to restore the groups back to the Start Menu, or do I just have one big list of programs that I have to choose from, with no spacing or any o

    :)

    LOST WINDOWS 10 START MENU

After trying all suggested fixes, I finally was forced to use Windows Recovery under Settings to reload the full system. I lost all non-Microsoft applications but recovered the start menu. Though this was a painful, no other suggestions worked.

Windows created an HTML file listing all programs that was deleted and that was very helpful for reinstalling mt lost programs.

Thanks to everyone for their effort, perhaps Microsoft will discover the root cause of so many who are losing the Start menu and can prevent it in the future.

    Windows 11 Start Menu grouping

Hi Greg and all Forum users. It is now March 2022, and Microsoft has not re introduced Groups (or Folders) on the Start Menu in Windows 11. This was certainly a backward step,, I mean having the ability to group apps and web pages in the Start Menu was a great function. And now it's deleted !! I have spoken to over 20 of my work friends who used the Start Menu for Groups, and now they can't. Come on Microsoft, do we have to wait until Windows 12? Take care all. Be safe ,, and God bless. Cheers ..

    Windows 11 Start Menu grouping

Yes, what Microsoft did with Windows 11 Start Menu is disgusting.

If I had not recently upgraded to Intel's new 12th gen hybrid CPU (i.e., a mixture of P-Cores and E-Cores in a single CPU), I would have remained with Windows 10, but Windows 10 task allocation does not properly allocate tasks between P-Cores and E-Cores like Windows 11, so I had no choice but to move to Windows 11.

There are plenty of other valid complaints about Windows 11, everything from the forced bundling of MS Teams personal version that conflicts with MS Teams work version and the whole "forced to use an MS account" issue when you load windows (another problem in the workplace). The list of Windows 11 issues goes on and on.
