Windows 10: Windows 11 forcing me to set up a PIN

I have never used a pin to sign in to my computer, just my regular Microsoft/Outlook account password. Now when I do so, a window pops up telling me to create a pin. This just started a few days ago and it's really irritating. How do I stop this? Please no advice to create a pin. I don't want one.

You can remove the pin of account b by following the steps below.

First log in to account b.

1. Open Settings on Windows 11.
   
2. Click on Accounts.
   
3. Click the Sign-option tab.
   
4. Under the “Ways to sign in” section, click the PIN (Windows Hello) setting.
   
5. Click the Remove button in the “Remove this sign-in option” setting.
   
6. Once you complete the steps, the PIN will be removed from the account, but you will continue to have access to the account with your password.
   

 

Windows 11 PIN Set Up

Thank you for the suggestion, but it did not solve my problem. I'm not stuck on setting up my PIN. Windows will let me sign on after I try to set up the PIN. When I turn on my computer, I need to enter my MS password, then it tells me to set up a PIN, which I attempt to do. Then I get an error message and the option to "skip for now". When I skip set up, I can use my computer. But I have to go through these steps each time I log on.

I tried the solution you recommended, but my laptop would not let me log on without the internet, so I'm back to square one.

Any other suggestions?

To set up a PIN on your Windows account, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Type the word pin in the search box and select
  Set up PIN sign-in.

  Under the PIN section, click the
  Add button.

  Enter the password for your user account, then click the
  OK button.

  Follow the instructions on the screen.
