Hi TeamI have a problem where whenever I’m playing a game whether it be downloaded from Steam or the Microsoft store - any game in general, the audio goes mute when I press the Windows key, open the taskbar, or open any app/web browser meaning I go to control another opened apps.When I go into the volume mixer, it shows the game audio is still playing as a number shows up.What I am trying so far is below.1 Troubleshooter2 Update driver3 Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device." But I can’t seem to find any solution.

Hello. I have a problem where whenever I’m playing a game (whether it be downloaded from steam or from the Microsoft store - any game in general) the audio goes mute when I press the windows key, open the taskbar, or open any app/web browser.

When I go into volume mixer it shows the game audio is still playing as a number shows up. I’ve also tried to go into sound settings or steam settings but can’t seem to find any solution to this

• Click OK

Here's the steps you can try.

-Go to Settings

-Click System

-Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter.

-Look for Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.

-Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers

-Look for Audio driver that was installed

-Right click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

-Go to Control Panel

-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.

-Select Sound.

-Select the Playback tab

-Right click the Speakers and click Enable.

-Right click Speakers and click Properties.

-Click on Advance Tab

-Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device"

-Click OK.

Restart your computer using cleanboot and check the audio.

What is the exact model of your computer?

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + R

-Type msinfo32 and hit enter.

-Look for the System Model and manufacturer post it here.
