Windows 10: Windows 11 getting a still photo from a video on either microsoft clipchamp or media...

I am trying to pull a still frame photo from a video I have and want to be able to pull out a still frame photo without losing quality of the photo by taking a screen shot. Please advise as this used to be a feature and i no longer have it/can find it.

"Edit With Clipchamp" and Open With Clipchamp no longer properly open the piece of media in Clipchamp

I understand that you are unable to open media files in Clipchamp, based on your description, it seems that you have also tried some options, very much agree with your troubleshooting solution, in order to better help you, I would like to know more about it with you:

• In order to help you better, I'd like to know more about it. What is the format of the media file you tried to open?
  
• Does Clipchamp give you any error messages or prompts when you try to open a file via File Explorer or when you open a media file?
  
• Do you have any other video editing software installed that may be affecting file associations?
  

Based on your description it seems that you are using the client version of Clipchamp, (if my understanding is wrong, you are welcome to correct me at any time) we suggest that you try to log in with the web version of Clipchamp first to see if you are able to open the files:Quick and easy video editor | Clipchamp

So that we can troubleshoot if it's an account issue.

Open a Video Not Using Clipchamp

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Even though you've uninstalled Clipchamp, there may still be some remnants in Windows, especially in the registry, causing Clipchamp to remain as the default video application. To address this, you can refer to the suggestions here to completely remove all traces of Clipchamp:

You might need to temporarily reinstall Clipchamp and then use this method to uninstall it completely.



Once you've completed the uninstallation, ensure that your default video program is the one you want to use:

Clipchamp app!

Hi again, could someone advice me about Clipchamp! I have used the Microsoft photo app for a long time now for creating videos etc. This morning the "Clipchamp" message popped up suggesting I use it. I have downloaded it but the question I am asking is "should I still keep the Photo app ? I only use the photo app for creating my own videos. If I can do the same with Clipchamp should I remove it? I haven't got to grips with this new app yet, the special effects I have with Photo app don't seem to be there! A little confused whether to have both apps ! Am I right in thinking the effects in the photo app will be removed eventually ?
