Windows 10: Windows 11 Graphic Glitches and Browser crashes

Hi,i assembled a new PC and tried to install Windows 11. be quiet! Experiencing frequent crashes, freezing, and graphical glitches after updating to Windows 11

This is not an answer, but an addition to the question.

I stated "I have the same question ..." but I did not say "since the 22H2 update to Windows 10" (not Windows 11).

This update was almost forced on me by Microsoft support who could not find a solution to a specific problem related to OneDrive

(just like LukeUnruh with an audio problem)

This "solution" was exactly the same as step 10) proposed by Greg Carmack (but for Windows10).

In fact, it was the one that triggered for me exactly the same phenomena that LukeUnruh noticed here.

For my part, I will add to LukeUnruh findings :

• BSOD
  
• browser crashes (Vivaldi = Chromium) whatever i was doing (buying smth, display files in my cloud, ...)
  
• MS 365 Word, Excel crashes,
  
• Windows Explorer crashes,
  
• PC manufacturer utilities crashes, etc.
  

In fact, the only way to stop it is to restart the computer.

On average, at least once an hour in my case...

The first signs are (with a small example in link):

• the search line does not open anymore in the Windows menu
  
• non-closing of windows (often with an apparent unzoom effect)
  
• moving objects leaves streaks on the background (it reminded me a lot ... Windows 3.1!)
  
• the current window (browser, word, excel, ..) disappears completely in full action
  
  • In the case of the browser, it is sometimes possible to resume the current session (connected and secured) by reopening the application and returning to the same page, and the session is still active (!!!)
    
  • In the case of Word or Excel, the auto-repair may not be total.
    
• all screens become black during a few seconds
  

The common point of the triggering of the problems seems to be a sudden graphic solicitation, inside the current application, or by requesting a fast change of application towards a more demanding application in graphic resources (processor ? memory ? switch between standard and graphic card (Intel/GeForce) ?)

As a provisional track, I propose to question this particular point by considering the contents of the release 22H2, wether it is Windows 10 or Windows 11.

 

Graphical glitches when viewing PDFs in browser in Windows 11

Hello,

I recently upgraded by HP laptop to Windows 11 and am all of a sudden experiencing weird graphical glitches when viewing PDFs in a browser. The content of the PDF looks all swiss-cheesed and is only partially legible. I have attached a screenshot for an example. When I download the PDF, I can view it just fine in Acrobat. This only happens in the browser, and it happens in all browsers I've tried. Has anyone else dealt with this after upgrading to 11?

 

Graphics glitches and Crashes

Since the BIOS update, I've had no major issues whatsoever. Everything works fine.

But minor issues such as random flickering and that purple outline issue have appeared. These are barely noticeable but I'm worried they might be a sign that there might be issues again in the future.

But since it's been confirmed that the BIOS update fixed the major issues such as everything crashing and all of the random glitches, it's most likely still a software issue.

Yes, it's still possible that it's a hardware issue, but I doubt it now.

And the 9500 GT's confirmed to work fine with Windows 8. It's on Nvidia's Windows 8 compatibility list.

I agree with MailMan. I've researched a lot of possible issues just in case, and a lot of issues are caused by software. If you work in tech support, I doubt you find that the majority of issues are caused by hardware as most users have pre-built PCs. Just my two cents.
